Mehr zu den Start-ups
| Was macht ihr und was unterscheidet euch von euren Wettbewerbern? | Terra One develops and operates grid scale battery energy storage systems in Europe. We combine project development, financing and long term ownership with an AI powered optimization and trading platform that maximizes revenues across wholesale and ancillary services while supporting system stability. What differentiates us is this integrated approach: we build assets and run them with our own optimization stack and market access, which enables fast execution, transparent performance and attractive infrastructure grade investment opportunities. |
|---|
| Wie schätzt ihr den Markt 2026 in eurem Tätigkeitsfeld ein? | In 2026 the German grid scale storage market is moving from hype to industrialization. Demand for flexibility and fast balancing continues to rise, but the pace of build out is increasingly determined by permitting and grid connection realities rather than technology. At the same time, market signals remain attractive: in 2025 fewer new battery systems were installed, yet newly added capacity increased, underlining the shift toward larger projects and the value of scale. The key question for 2026 is whether Germany manages to create predictable rules and standardized processes so storage can be rolled out at the speed the power system needs. |
|---|
| Was sind eure größten Herausforderungen? | Our biggest challenges are regulatory volatility, lengthy and non standardized grid connection processes. In parallel, supply chain and construction capacity must keep pace with the project pipeline, and investors need planning security to commit at scale. Finally, the market needs clearer, shared definitions and requirements for system beneficial storage behavior so investments translate into measurable grid value. |
|---|
| Welche Wünsche habt ihr an an Politik, Netzbetreiber und andere? | Policymakers should provide stable, long term planning certainty for large scale storage, including clear rules for permitting and a consistent treatment of storage as critical energy infrastructure. Grid operators and regulators should implement a standardized, transparent and time bound grid connection process across Germany, with clear responsibilities, data access and queue management. We also need common definitions and methodology for concepts such as “net beneficial” operation and for frameworks such as flexibility connection agreements, so projects can be developed and financed on a reliable basis. |
