Mehr zu den Start-ups
| Was macht ihr und was unterscheidet euch von euren Wettbewerbern? | Re-Twin Energy serves as a digital analyst for stakeholders in the BESS sector. We primarily support developers and operators. Our analytics services cover the full lifecycle from project setup (project configuration and sizing, scenario analysis, forecasting) to operation (benchmarking and optimisation). Our web app supports standalone and co-located (PV + BESS, Wind + BESS) asset classes. The BESS sector is facing increasingly volatile markets, along with grid restrictions and legislative changes. Generic performance indices are no longer sufficient to assess the profitability of a BESS. This is where Re-Twin creates value for users. Our digital twin and AI optimiser technology enable project-specific analytics. This means we go deeper than standard tools and can account for all relevant project aspects on a 1:1 basis. As a result, we enable developers and owners to reach profitable projects more quickly. |

| Wie schätzt ihr den Markt 2026 in eurem Tätigkeitsfeld ein? | In 2026, there is already 78 GW of approved BESS capacity. The market is volatile and grid restrictions make it increasingly difficult to navigate. At the same time, new players are entering, intensifying competition. This makes advanced analytics that capture these complexities and help you stay competitive more important than ever. The focus is already shifting from standalone BESS to co-located systems like PV + BESS and Wind + BESS. The next wave will be C&I BESS, bringing even more complexity and a stronger need for reliable decision support. Winners will be those who can turn uncertainty into bankable project decisions, secure grid access and optimise operations across markets. Re-Twin Energy helps developers and operators do exactly that. We offer analytics that support fast, data-driven decisions based on project-specific insights and side-by-side comparisons. With BESS CAPEX continuing to decline, 2026 will be the BESS implementation year. We’ll deliver the live monitoring and benchmarking tools needed for the assets coming online. |

| Was sind eure größten Herausforderungen? | Our biggest challenges are twofold: first, we must stay truly project-specific without getting lost in too many highly specific one-off cases. Today we still face a growing set of individual rules and bespoke requirements and we need to carfeully assess which ones are relevant for a bigger group of users instead of one single customer. Second, we strive to crack the "bankability nut": banks are among the most conservative stakeholders when it comes to assessing business opportunities. Even with the most accurate business case, it is not enough without a trusted reputation. Building and extending that credibility for Re-Twin Energy is a core focus, and we work on it every day by collaborating closely with customers and all other stakeholders of the ecosystem. |

| Welche Wünsche habt ihr an an Politik, Netzbetreiber und andere? | From policymakers and grid operators, we primarily wish for clear, consistent rules for BESS operations. Specifically, a shared definition of what “grid-friendly operation” means in practice in terms of dispatch obligations. In addition, we need clear regulation on future grid access frameworks. Particularly (if applied), how a grid fee mechanism will be designed and implemented, so developers and operators can plan with confidence and make decisions based on stable market conditions. |
